These terms cover the Phrase Path app and anything you buy from phrasepath.net. We have kept them short and in plain English, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.
Phrase Path is provided by Phrase Path Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom, 17 Peel House, Main Street, Ponteland, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE20 9NN. Contact us at [email protected].
All prices are in pounds sterling. The price you see is the price you pay, and nothing is added at checkout.
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content. Because a phrase pack is delivered to you immediately, we ask you, before you pay, to do two separate things: to consent to us supplying it straight away, and to acknowledge that once supply begins your 14 day right to cancel is lost. That is what the tick box on the pricing section is for.
If you would rather keep your 14 day cancellation right, do not tick the box. Email us instead and we will arrange your purchase so that supply begins after the cancellation period ends.
Waiving a statutory right should cost you nothing, so we give you a better one voluntarily. For 30 days from purchase, if Phrase Path does not earn its place on your lock screen, email [email protected] and we will refund you in full. No form, no reason needed, no questions. Refunds are made to your original payment method within 14 days.
The Traveller Pass renews once a year at the price shown when you bought it. We will email you before each renewal. You can cancel at any time from the link in any receipt email, or by emailing us, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Cancelling is as easy as signing up was, and always will be.
Anything bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play is handled by Apple or Google under their own terms, including their own refund processes. Purchases made here on phrasepath.net are handled by us, through Stripe, and are covered by the guarantee above.
You may use Phrase Path for your own travel and personal use. Please do not resell, redistribute or republish the phrase packs, or scrape the site. We license the content to you, we do not sell you the copyright in it.
Phrase Path gives you practical, situational phrases written and checked by people. Languages, dialects and local usage vary, and a phrase that works in one town may raise an eyebrow in the next. Phrase Path is a travel companion, not a certified translator or an interpreter, and it should not be relied on for legal, medical, safety-critical or emergency communication. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
We aim to keep the app and the site working, but we cannot promise they will never be unavailable. Downloaded packs are designed to keep working offline on your device regardless.
We may update these terms. When we do we will change the date above, and if the change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email. The terms that apply to your purchase are the ones in force on the day you bought.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections where you live. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.
Email [email protected] and a human will read it. If we cannot sort it out between us, you can also use the UK consumer advice service through Citizens Advice.
