Phrase Path is built to help you travel with confidence, not to harvest your data. We collect as little as possible, keep the app working offline, and never sell your information. This page explains, plainly, what we do collect and why.
Phrase Path is provided by Phrase Path Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom (17 Peel House, Main Street, Ponteland, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE20 9NN). In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Phrase Path Ltd, and "the app" means the Phrase Path mobile application.
Account information. If you choose to create an account, we store your email address so you can sign in and keep your saved packs. You can use the app in explore mode without signing in.
Approximate location. If you turn on Location Access, the app uses your device location to work out which country you are in and suggest the most useful language and phrases. We use this in the moment to power that feature. We do not build a history of your movements, and we do not sell location data.
Photos. When you save a phrase card to your photo library or set it as your lock screen, the app needs permission to add an image to your photos. We only add the card you choose. We do not read, scan or upload the other photos in your library.
Usage and diagnostic data. Like most apps, we use standard tools (including Google Firebase) to understand how the app is performing and to fix crashes and bugs. This may include basic, app-level usage events and crash reports. It helps us make the app better and is not used to identify you personally for advertising.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that help us run the app, such as Google Firebase for sign-in, analytics and crash reporting. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security obligations. We may also disclose information if required by law.
If you have an account, we keep your account information for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time (see Contact us below). Downloaded packs live on your device and are removed when you delete them or uninstall the app.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under data protection law (including the UK GDPR) to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below and we will respond as required by law.
Phrase Path is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated within the app or on our website.
